Community Club Fundraisers
In order to fund our programs and protect the art and music curriculum from budget cuts, Community Club needs to raise $60,000 each year! We target to $300 per student. Yes, it is a daunting task, but with your support we can continue to achieve our goals. We ask you to generously support our two annual fundraisers or consider becoming one of our sustaining donors by committing to a monthly pledge. Walk-A-Thon Each fall the Community Club sponsors a Walk-A-Thon. Shortly after school starts you will see a flier coming home with the date of the event and a pledge form. Students who turn in a minimum pledge (amount varies year to year) receive a Walk-a-Thon T-shirt, which can be worn all year to show school spirit. If you own a business and would like to advertise on the back of the t-shirts, keep an eye out for those fliers as well. It will be held during the last few hours of a Friday school day and will include a spirit rally, a walk-a-thon and family-oriented games. The timing and exact activities are up to the event organizer. Each walk-a-thon has its own theme to make them fun and different from year to year. Spring Fundraiser Each spring the Community Club sponsors its second fundraiser which is either a pledge drive or a dinner/auction event. The type of event is determined by the current needs of the school. When there is a specific, targeted need for funding, then Community Club often opts for a pledge drive. In other years, when the needs are more varied, Community Club puts on a dinner/auction event. The event is usually held on a weekend evening and is targeted at parents, teachers and community members. Ticket sales usually cover the cost of putting on the event; the majority of profits coming from the silent and live auction during the evening. There is always a theme and people typically come dressed accordingly. It's a fun event with the auction, food, drinks, and some form of entertainment.
